Inside Antique Archaeology in NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE!!

EDIT_4

Here’s one of those shots that I don’t believe I’ve ever shared, from within Mike Wolfe’s Antique Archaeology shop in Nashville, Tennessee. I took this last July 2012.

Kentucky. Beautiful State. Great Junk.

Now that I am home, and it’s all said and done, Kentucky was by far my favorite state to pick for antiques and junk this past leg of the OUP Photography Tour.  Here is a shot I took at a rest stop, which was a really nice rest stop by the way, compared to most. Hopefully I can get back down to pick Kentucky before years end, or early next year.

Thank you Kentucky and people of Kentucky for the memories!

BEST PICK SO FAR! CAVE CITY, KENTUCKY!!!!

I had a blast picking St. Louis, Missouri, as I told you guys all about in a previous blog, but without a shadow of a doubt, my best pick so far came out of nowhere in Cave City, Kentucky.  We saw a sign on the side of the road advertising “large dinosaurs,” which we then exited for and went to checkout.  This place is called Dinosaur City.  Seems like an awesome place, but right across from it is the REAL awesome place.  It’s a little spot called “The Olde Generl Store,” and yes, I know that it is spelled wrong.

This place is LOADED with advertising.  TONS of it!  We’re talking signs, bottles, coolers, a little bit of EVERYTHING you can imagine! I’ll be making another trip down to Kentucky for sure.  Easily my best state to pick so far…. Check out some photographs of this KILLER place!!!

Right now I’m just sitting in my hotel room in Winchester, Virginia.  Tomorrow afternoon it’s off through Maryland, and then down to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware tomorrow evening where I’ll be staying until Monday, followed by staying at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware on Monday night.  After that, it’s back home and back to the hustle.  I’m excited to get some of the killer stuff I’ve picked into the shops.  STAY TUNED this weekend as I’ll have a few more blogs posted, and I’ll have even more once I get back home.

Been a very fun week so far.  Hope you have enjoyed the blog posts, LIVE STREAMS on OUnitProductions.com, and other randomness… THANKS to you all!

Good Day of Picking ON THE ROAD! ST. LOUIS, MO!!!!

Today I ended up getting to pick Cherokee Street in St. Louis, MO, which has TONS of killer antique shops all located next to each other.  Originally got the tip from an article that Mike Wolfe (the American Picker himself) was a part of.  Scored some killer stuff, and also ran across some NFS (not for sale) stuff that I wish I had a chance at picking/buying… Ahh well…. lots more time left this week ;)

OUP Photography Tour Continues… Springfield, IL, St. Louis, MO, #RAW1000, PICKING!

Another great day on the road, tons of adventures and fun.  It all started off early this morning at a random rest stop in the middle of Illinois.  I’m really starting to love going to these different rest stops, and enjoying “roughing it” a little bit.  After getting some coffees and bagels at a Starbucks and getting some gas, we decided to hit a few co-ops and shop around for some different antiques, and any good junk I could find.  Got some killer stuff which I’ll be showing in an episode of “Picking” I plan while filming on the road… should be out in a day or two.

After a great day of picking it was off to St. Louis, which I still am right now writing this blog.  We are staying in the Millennium Hotel here in this beautiful city.  We attended WWE’s “RAW 1,000″ event at the Scottrade Center, and let me tell you, AMAZING.  We attended two big RAW’s earlier this year, in Philadelphia and Cleveland, and this one beat all others in my mind, hands down.

I now sit here enjoying my beautiful hotel room (some slow service and a few other annoyances here, but we’ll keep that on the hush for now…) and the fact that it is officially now as of writing this my 28th Birthday… where does the time go?  Anyway, tomorrow it is off  to pick Missouri some more, possibly Tennessee or Kentucky, maybe Arkansas, who knows??!? I absolutely love life on the road.  Sometimes it is stressful, sometimes it is uncertain, but it is always fun and something new.  That keeps me happy.  That is what I need more of in my life.

Here are some photographs from the day, enjoy!

Stay tuned to http://www.ounitproductions.com all week for tons of exclusive videos and live streams, and I’ll have some new videos on my YouTube channel as well at http://youtube.com/ounitproductions

First 24 Hours of 2012 OUP Photography Tour… FROM THE ROAD!

I’m just sitting in the passenger seat as my girlfriend is driving us from Illinois towards St. Louis, Missouri.  Sorry it took so long to get my first update posted, but so far this tour has been fun, yet EXTREMELY tiring.  In the past 24 hours I’ve only got about 1-2 hours of sleep.  Hoping that will change this evening in a few hours when we get to a rest stop.  We spent last night at a rest stop as well, but had to be up extremely early this morning, and for some reason I just couldn’t really fall asleep.

Last night we slept at a rest stop near Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and tonight we’re shooting for somewhere in Missouri, but on the road, you just never know.  Tomorrow we’ll be attending WWE’s Raw 1,000th Episode in St. Louis, and we have an awesome hotel, so I am expecting to get some awesome content all day tomorrow in St. Louis.

Today we hit Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.  I am not sure if I am just spoiled with HersheyPark or what, and don’t get me wrong I had a blast, but it just wasn’t the same.  I found the employees not to be very nice or helpful, the park to be overall in not-so-great shape, and the list goes on… But we did have a blast! (for the most part….)

I’m going to leave you with some of my favorite photographs from today and yesterday…. I’ll check back in as soon as possible :)

Don’t forget that I’ve been streaming LIVE from the road over at http://www.ounitproductions.com … I just may pop on LIVE tonight briefly after posting this blog ;)

Before letting you go, I just want to briefly mention this X-Flight Rollercoaster at Six Flags Great America, as you see pictured above.  I enjoyed it, would love to ride it again someday, but it wasn’t able to “live up to the hype” for me, and make my top few Rollercoasters.  After riding this today, my “Top Five” list, which I have rode, would have to be as follows:

1)  SkyRush – HersheyPark

2)  Intimidator 305 – King’s Dominion

3)  Possessed – Dorney Park

4)  X-Flight – Six Flags Great America

5)  Fahrenheit – HersheyPark

Just my opinions at the time of writing this, hopefully one day soon I’ll have an updated list :)  Looking forward to RAW 1,000 tomorrow night, picking the backroads of Missouri, Kentucky, and Tennessee Tuesday and Wednesday, the Under the Influence Tour with Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller on Thursday, picking Virginia, etc.. on Friday, and Rehoboth Beach and Dover, Delaware next weekend….. EXCITING TIMES AHEAD! STAY TUNED to the 2012 Summer OUP Photography Tour!!!

2012 OUP Photography Tour Begins Part IV!! The Final Photo Update… REHOBOTH BEACH!!!!

As always, it was a very sad moment walking on the beach for the last time on this trip.  I love the beach.  Never met a beach I don’t like… cannot wait until my next beach trip, hopefully sooner than later.

After a while of enjoying the beach & town we left Rehoboth Beach.  Trust me, it won’t be too long until we go back… even in the Winter, loved that town.  We ended up going to Dover, Delaware and the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.  GREAT place!  My girlfriend and I often go to Hollywood Casino in more local Grantville, PA, so for us this was a little upgrade of sorts (although we LOVE Hollywood Casino!), and a new experience.  Also can’t wait to go back there! (and I believe we have some complimentary stays on the way in the mail!)

After a good time in the casino, probably about a 4 or 5 hour visit, it was time for the drive home.  Only about a four hour drive or so to our home, so it is really not too bad.  Nothing I typically don’t come close to doing every week on the road anyway.  Pretty beautiful sunset on the way home… So folks, that is pretty much it.  I still have a good amount of video I took while on this trip, which you will eventually see right here in this blog, but I am in the meanwhile working on a secret project of sorts.  I can’t talk too much about it now, but I will in the future.

I will be doing a lot more filming/traveling/photography, etc… so stay tuned to this blog, as well as OUnitProductions.com… thanks so much!

Where would you like to see the OUP Photography Tour go?  What did you like about this past trip?  What didn’t you enjoy so much?  Which shot was your favorite?  Or simply, how can I help YOU?

2012 OUP Photography Tour BEGINS! From PA to DE Part I!!!

It’s Monday morning, January 30th, 2012.  As advertised this past weekend I spent on the road headed towards Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  Originally I planned on hitting two auctions beforehand, one in Smithsburg, MD and one in Glen Rock, PA.  Well, those plans changed a bit.  Pretty much last minute I decided to just head straight towards Delaware, and “freestyle pick” along the way, stopping at any Flea Markets, antique mall, or simple junk pile that I saw.  Let me tell you, this worked out great!

A few hours into the journey I realized that I was about to pass one of my favorite Flea Markets that I’ve picked many times, and have also set up at before as a vendor, Saturday’s Market in Middletown, PA.  Had to stop! Very glad that I did as I scored HUGE on a motherload of soda crates, bottles, wooden boxes, and other odds and ends.

After leaving Middletown and Saturday’s Market (very happy & excited about my finds), it was on towards Rehoboth Beach!  A few hours later we arrived, parked by our hotel, and walked up and down the Boardwalk a bit.  It was a little bit chilly, but beautiful nonetheless. I absolutely LOVE beach towns!  One of my original plans when we decided to go to Rehoboth Beach was to eat at Dogfish Head’s Brewings & Eats pub/restaurant.  We passed it on the way to our hotel, and knew we had to have our first meal there!

Before I get into the food and beer, which I absolutely LOVED, I have to mention the sign you see above.  It’s an antique “Drink Delaware Punch” sign which is hanging inside Dogfish Head.  KILLER!  I almost wanted to try to make any offer on it! LOL… I ended up trying their fish and chips meal, which included actual dogfish.  Delicious!  My girlfriend Brandi actually even enjoyed it (she sampled a little piece… she had steak and fries) and she doesn’t like fish.  The only other fish I have got her to eat and enjoy is Mahi Mahi that we had down in Miami last January.

I ended up having 7 Dogfish Head beers total.  A sampler of 5 4oz beers, and two “regular” sized beers.  I am HUGE into the craft beer scene so I honestly thought each beer was amazing, in its own way.  Let’s just say at the end of dinner I was VERY full, and just a bit tipsy ;)

Overall I would give the Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats pub an “A” if I were to grade it.  Great atmosphere, great food, and obviously GREAT beer.  I really enjoy how you can try exclusive beers while you are there, some which will never see the actual market around the United States.  After our meal we both purchased some shirts outside of the pub, in a little stand that they have set up where you can also purchase hats, beer, and other odds and ends.

We accomplished quite a bit on this trip, and I still have loads of photos (and some video!) to share with you guys…. STAY TUNED for Part II coming next, later in the week.  I’m not sure how many parts exactly I will have, but just know that there is a lot to come!

I would appreciate it if you left some comments, questions, ideas, or anything else you may have below… THANKS!

Finally Getting Back Out Shooting Photography… AND MORE! ;)

This coming weekend, January 28th & 29th, 2012, I will be on the road again, finally, shooting some photography & video for a top-secret project! I am usually on the road for my business at least once per week, but this will be the first time in a while that in addition to auctions, etc.., I will be concentrating solely on shooting photography and video.

It will all start early Saturday morning when I’ll be hitting the road around 6 AM towards Smithsburg, MD to attend an auction at 10 AM, followed by an hour and a half drive to Glen Rock, PA at 4 PM for yet another auction. Loading up on rusty treasure this weekend… hopefully!

After leaving Glen Rock we’ll be heading to Rehoboth Beach, DE and checking into the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center, hopefully by 10 or 11 PM, but it may be a bit later, depending on how the auction in Glen Rock, PA (which is an auction house I am familiar with, and love) goes. I’ve booked an oceanfront room, to enjoy what is hopefully a beautiful sunrise on Sunday morning! Myself and my girlfriend will be spending Sunday taking in the sights and sounds of Rehoboth Beach, shooting photography and video, and will leave town towards home on Sunday evening once the sun goes down, etc…

Very excited for this weekend! I’ll have some more info on the “secret video project” once I am able to release it, but just know that some exciting things are in the works! Also, I will, OF COURSE, be posting some photos and videos RIGHT HERE in this blog next week and possibly while on the road…

STAY TUNED! 2012 HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
