HUGE SUPERMAN/SUPER MUSEUM in Metropolis, Illinois!!!!

EDIT_3

In between cities we randomly stopped into Metropolis, Illinois, and HAD A BLAST!

Kentucky. Beautiful State. Great Junk.

Now that I am home, and it’s all said and done, Kentucky was by far my favorite state to pick for antiques and junk this past leg of the OUP Photography Tour.  Here is a shot I took at a rest stop, which was a really nice rest stop by the way, compared to most. Hopefully I can get back down to pick Kentucky before years end, or early next year.

Thank you Kentucky and people of Kentucky for the memories!

2012 OUP Photography Tour BEGINS! Rehoboth Beach! Part III

Sunday morning started off feeling VERY sick.  Simple as that.  You will, I’m sure, later see some video with proof of such a fact.  Regardless, a few hours later, and some coffee thanks to the hotel’s always-welcome-when-traveling in-room coffee maker, it was on!  It shows with some of my first views of Rehoboth Beach for the day…

The hotel had a “viewing roof” of sorts, but when we walked upstairs the door was locked.  I’m not quite sure why, and I didn’t ask.  Something else small that sort of confused me about the hotel.  Regardless, it had a beautiful view!

After checking out we loaded up our car, and began walking around the area again.  Looked at the beach, stopped at a few stores, and eventually realized that we were both starving, still sort of hungover, and needed to find a place to eat.  This came with Sammy’s Kitchen.  I didn’t really take any photos there, and I wish I would have, but pretty decent food.  It was pretty busy, with a wait when we arrived, which didn’t bother me too much.

The service was sort of slow, but I can understand why since they only had basically one waitress running the entire restaurant.  I am assuming someone called off?  I overheard somebody saying that they didn’t realize it was going to be that busy, but only having one waitress doesn’t seem smart, right?  Anyway, pretty good food, I had a typical breakfast dinner (eggs, toast, hash browns, etc…) and it was as-said typical, and just sort of average.  Good, but average.

After eating we did some more shopping, walked around, and got ready to head to the beach one last time!

I’ll be back before the weekend with Part IV, the FINAL photo update of this fun little journey…. more beach shots to come! ;)

Finally Getting Back Out Shooting Photography… AND MORE! ;)

This coming weekend, January 28th & 29th, 2012, I will be on the road again, finally, shooting some photography & video for a top-secret project! I am usually on the road for my business at least once per week, but this will be the first time in a while that in addition to auctions, etc.., I will be concentrating solely on shooting photography and video.

It will all start early Saturday morning when I’ll be hitting the road around 6 AM towards Smithsburg, MD to attend an auction at 10 AM, followed by an hour and a half drive to Glen Rock, PA at 4 PM for yet another auction. Loading up on rusty treasure this weekend… hopefully!

After leaving Glen Rock we’ll be heading to Rehoboth Beach, DE and checking into the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center, hopefully by 10 or 11 PM, but it may be a bit later, depending on how the auction in Glen Rock, PA (which is an auction house I am familiar with, and love) goes. I’ve booked an oceanfront room, to enjoy what is hopefully a beautiful sunrise on Sunday morning! Myself and my girlfriend will be spending Sunday taking in the sights and sounds of Rehoboth Beach, shooting photography and video, and will leave town towards home on Sunday evening once the sun goes down, etc…

Very excited for this weekend! I’ll have some more info on the “secret video project” once I am able to release it, but just know that some exciting things are in the works! Also, I will, OF COURSE, be posting some photos and videos RIGHT HERE in this blog next week and possibly while on the road…

STAY TUNED! 2012 HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!

2011 OUP Photography Tour KICKS OFF! HUGE! IN FLORIDA!!!!!

I am writing this right now from my hotel in Clermont, Florida.  Let me tell you, it has been a long couple days.  I woke up yesterday, Friday, around 2 PM and have been up ever since.  I also drove the entire 20-or-so hour drive from State College, PA to where I am right now, Clermont, Florida.  So, if some of this doesn’t make sense… sorry!  I shall try my best….  I stayed up because I wanted to experience to drive to Florida myself.  Honestly, I don’t regret any of it.

Overall it was a good trip except a few things.  Around 1 or 2 AM we ran into road construction in Virginia, and once we were almost at our hotel in Florida, we ran into problems with the GPS, and was unable to find our hotel at first.  After doing some research online via stealing a McDonald’s WiFi connection, and calling the hotel, we were able to find it.  We ended up eating at the hotel’s restauraunt/pub, the Even Par Pub.  Pretty enjoyable atmosphere and good people!

Regardless, it has been a long day, and here I sit at 8 PM, ready to relax, get a full night of sleep, and hustle tomorrow.  I will be getting up around 6 AM and attending the Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza in Mount Dora, Florida at 8 AM.  Afterwards it is off to Miami! I am so excited.  Our hotel in general is awesome!

I promise some more in-depth posts this week, but it has been a loooooooooong 30+ hour day… so I will leave you with a few of my favorite shots from the past 30+ hours of the beginning of the 2011 OUP Photography Tour!

Information on Renninger’s Mt. Dora, FL Antique Extravaganza We’re Hitting Next Sunday Morning!

I frequent Renninger’s in Adamstown, PA quite often to purchase/invest in items for my company, as well as network, and do research.  Looking forward to visiting their Mt. Dora operation!  We’re only 6 days away from leaving now!

One Week Away!

One week from today, next Friday, January 14th, the 2011 OUP Photography Tour kicks off as we head down to Florida!  The shot above is the hotel we’ll be staying at in Miami, the Newport Beachside!

We’ll first be going to Mt. Dora’s Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza on Sunday morning, January 16th.  From there on it’s down to Miami!  Our hotel actually has four restauraunts inside and offers a bunch of neat features.  Awesome!  I hope to do some boating while down there, possibly some snorkeling, go out one night, and spend a lot of quality time on the beach!  We’ll be leaving Miami on Thursday, January 20th, possibly stopping at Orlando, then heading home to arrive back in town Friday night, January 21st.

This is going to be an extremely exciting trip! Follow along right here on this Blog!

Hershey’s “Christmas Candylane”

Well, due to my girlfriend Brandi having to work this weekend, looks like I won’t be heading to Hershey this Saturday for Christmas Candylane.  I’m hoping to sneak there sometime before it ends, but I guess we’ll see.  Need to tighten my spending habits a bit before heading towards Florida next month for the kick-off of the “2011 OUP Photography Tour!”

Next Pre-2011 Tour Stop… Hershey’s Christmas Candylane!

Keeping in the “tradition” of providing content for the OUP Photography Tour blog, I have yet another stop planned before the 2011 OUP Photography Tour kicks off on January 13th.  On December 11th I’ll be headed to HersheyPark’s Christmas Candylane!  I’ve been to all of HersheyPark’s Seasonal Events this year, and this marks the last one.  Check back that weekend for an update!
